Scope and Contents

The Charles L. Whaley Collection contains five boxes of materials produced by or related to Charles Whaley and Lois Linnenkohl Whaley and their lives as missionaries to Japan. The collection also includes yearbooks from Seinan Gakuin University. Most of the items in the second accession are undated and were kept in their original order.

Scope and Contents The Eugene S. Mitchell Collection consists mainly of items from Mitchell's education at Mercer University (1857-1860) and correspondence from during and after the American Civil War (1862-1871). Series 1 consists of correspondence, mostly from Mitchell to Chloe Emma Lewis, his future wife. Scope and Contents While named the Riley B. Plymale Collection, the collection appears to be more focused on Foreman M. Hawes. Hawes and Plymale were long-time friends. Both were graduates of Mercer University and faculty colleagues at Locust Grove Institute.
